The pony trots were once again privileged to have 11 year old Rehn Nagel come down from Port Pirie and call the races in excellent fashion as always. 

 

RACE 1 – BILLINGER FAMILY SHETLAND TROT

In the first event for tonight the shetlands all trotted away well with PJ out in front of Razzle Dazzle, Pee Wee 50, Swamp Fire, Ben Ten and a gap back to Eddy's A Fake.  Turning for home PJ had a 30 metre lead ahead of Razzle Dazzle, Swamp Fire and Ben Ten who were all in a line but tonight it was Ben Ten driven by Jason Kittel's turn to win and won by a length from PJ,  Pee Wee 50 and Swamp Fire completing the placings.

 

 

 

 

RACE 2 – JAN WEST TROT

All ponies in the second event were well behaved and trotted along nicely with Ooh La Laar giving the field a well deserved 100 metres start.  Down the back straight it was Ooh La Laar, Born To Be Wild, Little Kizz, Summer Surprise, Westbury Bogart, Chilli Knights and Mr Murphy. 
 
The ponies hit the line in a 3 way finish for first between Ooh La Laar on the inside who won by a nose ahead of Little Kizz on the outside and Born To Be Wild in the centre a head away in 3rd position.
 
Ooh La Laar driven by Emma Johnson wasn't impressed about being given his medal after the race and the presentation and photos had to be done in the stable area.
 
 
 

 

 

RACE 3 – JAN WEST SHETLAND TROT

On the home turn in the shetland Our Sir Patchalot was out in front from Midnight Star, Lets Tango making a run, back on the inside Chickabarquar and a gap back to Crackerjack for the birthday girl Kaycee Carey and Wandarra Tess at the rear of the field.
 
With Our Sir Patchalot out in front in looked like he might get victory but the honest pony Wandarra Tess flashed fast down the outside from last to take out first placing from Lets Tango, Our Sir Patchalot, Midnight Star all in a close finish.
 
Lets Tango was relegated to 4th placing after galloping.  The final placings were Wandarra Tess, Jacinta Gilbert first, Our Sir Patchalot 2nd and Midnight Star 3rd.

With 9 ponies in the last event all ponies stepped away reasonably well.

Down the back straight with Reggie Ledgie out in front there was a line of five Petti Cheval, Lapanacaton, Way To Go, Wynkie Sweet Fairytales and Mr Mischief taking the sit were Little Paleface and Aussie with a gap back to Aadelaidee Lady.

Turning for home Reggie Ledgie had a 10 metre lead ahead of Lapanacaton with another 10 metres back to Petti Cheval and Little Paleface.

They crossed the line with the ever consistent pony from last season Lapanacaton taking victory for Nicholas Brown giving him his first winner on this pony.  Lapanacaton won by a length from Reggie Ledgie on the inside and a length back to the fast finishing Little Paleface.
