The first pony race tonight was a shetland discretionary with two races merged into one.  All ponies stepped away well from their marks with PJ out in front trotting along nicely.  As they approached the back gate Swamp Fire was a narrow leader with Ben Ten, Eddy's A Fake and Pee Wee 50 about to make runs.  At the 200m mark Lauren Basto having only her 2nd drive on Wandarra Tess pulled 4 wide and said 'go'.  PJ was out in front with a huge break but Wandarra Tess was closing in fast with Crackerjack a further 20 metres behind the group about to pounce too.  They crossed the line with Wandarra Tess an easy winner ahead of PJ and Crackerjack crossing the line in a dead heat, Swamp Fire and Pee Wee 50 were next.

Congratulations to Lauren Basto on getting her first winner.

Little Kizz jumped to the lead early and never looked endanger.  Westbury Bogart trotted faultlessly all the way and finished in 2nd placing proving to be very consistent.  Summer Surprise crossed the line in 3rd placing but was relegated to 4th after galloping and hence Chilli Knights received third prize.  Mr Mischief was not on his best behaviour and gave Bailey Hoare a drive he would rather forget.

The race was a discretionary handicap with quite a few scratchings.

Razzle Dazzle was out in front and looked to be a certain winner when the invisible man jumped out in front of him causing him to stop and jump sideways only metres before the finishing line.  Midnight Star who was closing in on Razzle Dazzle had to veer to miss him.  Christie Gilbert got Razzle Dazzle going again but in a gallop as he crossed the line 1 metre in front of Midnight Star.  Under the circumstances the judges declared a dead heat for first between Razzle Dazzle and Midnight Star.  Harley Davidson finished close up in third placing.

Reggie Ledgie who started off the front mark of 700 metres was out in front and never looked like being beaten tonight.  The order of the ponies in the field didn't change since the start as Petti Cheval finished 2nd ahead of Way To Go third.
