Coming down the straight PJ on rails, Reggie Ledgie and Midnight Star

Just past the line

It was a very long straight for PJ but he straightened in front ahead of Reggie Ledgie and Midnight Star with the two back markers along way back.  With only 20 metres before the line it looked like the placings would be Midnight Star, Reggie Ledgie and PJ but in a blink of the eye Till We Meet Again and Wandarra Tess dashed up the inside startling Reggie Ledgie who jumped sideways into Midnight Star who then slowed up.  The eventual placings went to Till We Meet Again and a very close finish for 2nd between Wandarra Tess and Reggie Ledgie.  A very exciting finish for spectators but a nightmare for our commentator, Rod Basto and the judges.

Footnote:  Madison Smith was mentioned on Thursday mornings harness racing show (1197 am) having won the previous week with Aadelaidee Lady she had her Profile read out.  Who will it be this week?

Coming down straight

Mr Mischief and Matthew William's

At the start Petti Cheval took off pigrouting towards the inside of the track in front of Chilli Knights who was coming up fast along the rails, Brodie Webster did a good job as he had to pull the right rein hard to miss Petti Cheval just clipping Kathryn Lehmann in the back.  Petti Cheval was then retired from the event.  Crackerjack had a nice lead at the top of the straight with the remainder of the field nicely bunched behind him.  Coming wide around the top corner Matthew Williams said go on Mr Mischief and flew home to beat the shetland Crackerjack ahead of the back marker Little Paleface.

Due to a misunderstanding Little Paleface who was to start on the 600m started off the 590 metre mark with Lapanacaton and Chilli Knights.

The winner Westbury Bogart with Lisa Miles and the Gilbert family

Westbury Bogart who flew the start and trotted to perfection, took over the lead from Oungachucka at Normans Gate then cleared out for an easy win for a very excited Lisa Miles.  Mr Mischief was making good ground dashing down the outside ahead of Aadelaidee Lady.

Thank you to all young drivers and their families for giving the Lady Reinswomen a drive on your ponies.
