RACE 1 – HEATHER HOWE SHETLAND TROT

All four ponies trotted away nicely, with Midnight Star (Sharni Newman) the early leader from It’s All About Me (Chantelle Rendall), Crackerjack (Kaycee Carey) and the backmarker Wandarra Tess (Jacinta Gilbert).

The order of the ponies didn’t change until half way down the running when It’s All About raced up on the outside and took the lead off of Midnight Star and went onto win by 5 metres.

Final placings are Its All About Me 1st, Midnight Star 2nd, Wandarra Tess 3rd and not far away was Crackerjack 4th.

When the starter dropped the flag all the ponies stepped away with Born To Be Wild (Cameron Jacques) from Little Kizz (Christie Gilbert), Summer Surprise (Cheyenne Moritz) and Chilli Knights (Chantelle Rendall).

Heading in to straight Born To Be Wild still had a handy margin over rest of the field, halfway down the straight Chilli Knights made a late charge at Born To Be Wild but the winning post came up.

Final results: Born to be Wild 1st, Chilli Knights 2nd, Little Kizz 3rd and Summer Surprise 4th.

The next race was the shetlands with a field of seven taking to the track. The early leader was PJ (Bryce Gilbert) being off the front mark, followed by Two Tone Miss (Jayden Brewin), Pee Wee 50 (Lachlan Ramsay), Razzle Dazzle (Jacinta Gilbert), Swamp Fire (Nicholas Brown), Eddy’s A Fake (Jodie Billinger) and the backmarker Ben Ten (Jason Kittel).

PJ was making ever post a winner out in front, Two Tone Miss and Pee Wee 50 tried to catch the leader but PJ had a big enough lead to go on and win by 10 metres.

The final placings were PJ 1st, Pee Wee 50 2nd and Two Tone Miss 3rd.

The final race of the night had a field of seven lining up. Reggie Ledge (Shannon Platts) stepped away nicely from Aussie (Jason Kittel), Way To Go (Kathryn Lehmann), Wynkie Sweet Fairytales (Chantelle Rendall), Petti Cheval (Jennifer Lehmann), Mr Mischief (Bailey Hoare) and Lapanacaton (Nicholas Brown).

Turning into the home straight Reggie Ledgie was still out in from with Way To Go chasing out after him. Half way down the straight Reggie Ledgie went off stride and Way To Go took over the lead and went on to score by 12 metres.

Final result: Way To Go 1st, Wynkie Sweet Fairytales 2nd and Reggie Ledgie 3rd.
