All ponies stepped away safely in the first event with our front marker being PJ of 390 metres.  Turning for home PJ was holding the lead with the field closing in with Razzle Dazzle, Eddy’s A Fake, Swamp Fire, 20 metres back to Ben Ten and Its All About Me sticking together.  It appears to be becoming a bit of a habit but Ben Ten had his customary pigroute at the 300 metre mark giving Its All About Me a little scare.

Approaching the line it was an excellent finish looming with Razzle Dazzle (Christie Gilbert) and Eddy’s A Fake (Jodie Billinger) going stride for stride down the straight with Eddy lunging on the line to grab victory by a neck on Jodie’s 16th birthday ahead of Razzle Dazzle with a length back to the two fast finishing ponies Its All About Me and Ben Ten.

Eddy’s A Fake seems to like the country tracks in preference to the metro and is becoming the country track specialist.

As the ponies were heading to the start of the second event it was realised we didn’t have a starter organised, Steve Branson jumped up and sprinted across the centre of the track to start the race with his cap!

Aadelaidee Lady trotted faultlessly today and went for home at the 400 metre mark with her ears pricked for Madison Smith.  Mr Mischief was chasing hard trying bridge the gap with a bunched field 10 metres back as they hit the 200 metre mark with Born To Be Wild, Reggie Ledgie, Chilli Knights, Cowboy Road, Petti Cheval and Lapanacaton.

Aadelaidee Lady went on to be an easy winner from Mr Mischief with a further gap back to Petti Cheval grabbing third by a head from Lapanacaton and half length back to Chilli Knights along the rail.

With Don Wenham our usual race caller, racing his own horse in the next event Jim Jacques stepped in and called the third pony event.

With a couple of late scratchings only a field of 6 was left in this race.  Heading down the home straight PJ with his little short steps was making every post a winner and Mr Mischief was putting in the big strides and reducing the margin until Mr Mischief galloped for 2 strides at a vital stage.  Mr Mischief got going again but the line came up too soon and little PJ was able to hold on for a length win for Bryce Gilbert.  Razzle Dazzle finished in third placing.

As the flag went down in the final event Aadelaidee Lady turned around giving herself no chance to make it back to back wins.  A nice piece of driving by Jacinta Gilbert on Wandarra Tess taking the sit behind the leader Cowboy Road for about 50 metres before pulling wide and going around him.

As they swung for home Wandarra Tess was out in front from Cowboy Road, Way To Go, Aussie and 2 ponies misbehaving Wynkie Sweet Fairytales and Aadelaidee Lady.

Wandarra Tess went on for an easy win from Way To Go with Aussie taking out third placing.
