Race 1
Race one in the schedule was sponsored by Scott Grant at Quality Wools,
with only 5 ponies running in both the races. The conditions of a warm
day did not slow the ponies down in this race and track conditions were
prime for the ponies. Buddy Boom Boom with Evie Sealey followed by Jerry
driven by Nicola Bowditch were the leaders of the field until the top
turn where Marmalade and Bryce Bygate did not hold back and stride by
stride made it to the front, however, Minty and Jessica Shepherd quickly
approached the pair on the outside of the track.Jessica Shepherd drove
Minty over the line fofr the race one win ahead of Marmalade (Bryce
Bygate), Evie Sealey had another flawless drive on Buddy Boom Boom for a
third placing, with Jerry (Nicola Bowditch) and Blaze was last over the
line,driven superbly by Courtney Sealey.
Race 2 was another
interesting race, with smallest pony on the track, Buddy Boom Boom
racing 600 metres compared to the usual 460 metres. All ponies had a
smooth start for this marathon race, expect for Minty who was a bit too
excited. Frontrunners, Jerry and Buddy Boom Boom were the leaders again
until Marmalade (Bryce Bygate) came to lead on the home straight, Blaze
(Amber Formosa) were in sight of leading but couldnt quite make it.
Minty and Jessica Shepherd took out the double for the afternoon,
Marmalade and Bryce Bygate took the second placing, ahead of Buddy Boom
Boom, Jerry (Nicola Bowditch) and Blaze (Amber Formosa)
