On Friday night, we had the biggest field (and the most tinsel and santa hats) we seen for a while in pony trots, with 11 ponies and drivers running, with new pony a driver Poppin Pepe and Marnee Formosa. Millie Beveridge travelled from Melbourne to participate on local pony, Smokey.
Race 1, Pony Trots Supporters Handicap, was run over 600 metres. Super Mario kept the lead early on and maintained it for the whole race, to claim first ahead of Jackim (Jacob Opperman), Slim Dusty (Amity Formosa) received third placing in front of Marmalade (Mikayla Bygate), Zena (Kimberley Opperman), Jerry (Nicola Bowditch), Smokey (Millie Beveridge), Buddy Boom Boom (Evie Sealey), Oliver Twist (Bryce Bygate) and last over the line was Blaze and Amber Formosa.
Race 2, sponsored by Mil-Lel gardening Services, was won by Super Mario (Keeley Formosa) again. Jackim (Jacob Opperman) ran second, followed by Jerry (Nicola Bowditch). Marmalade, Buddy Boom Boom, Smokey, Blaze and Oliver Twist couldn’t gain momentum to get in the placings in this race.
