The first race for the Pony Trots was sponsored by The Barker Family Harness Racing Stables. They travel to Mount Gambier every race meeting from Hamilton, though Stacey Barker and Slim Dusty were unable to race in the Pony Trots as the family already had 8 in the races.
The second race was sponsored by the Greenfield Family who was unable to attend.
All ponies and drivers came out eager to win the first race, with the fields being smaller than ever as Jacob Opperman was also not able to be present with his 2 ponies. It was a very speedy start for all ponies with Pee Wee Penny (Evie Sealey) blitzing down the home straight for her second win of the season. Lucy and Keeley Formosa were able to take out 2nd place. Blaze was the back marker for the night but was able to fly past Willow (Abbey Gull) and Yoshi (Courtney Sealey) who were both out of the placings.
The ponies came out again to compete in the Greenfield family Handicap. Keeley Formosa was thrilled to get her first win of the pony trots with a smile from ear to ear. Next over the line was Keeley’s Cousin Courtney Sealey with Yoshi. Following them was Blaze (Amber Formosa) and out of the placings were Pee Wee Penny and Willow.
