AARON BAIN
Former
pony driver Aaron Bain is a dedicated harness racing enthusiast who is
currently in Year 11 at Xavier High School.
Aaron
likes to keep himself busy so before school and on weekends he helps out local
trainer and vet Toby Ryan, and his father Peter. With only limited drives he landed his first winner with the
family horse Carnival Rose at Kapunda on 15 February 2009, after drawing
Barrier 9 he settled back in the field before coming home strongly to win by 4m
ahead of Jazzstar and Humboldt.
He
has a passion for researching horses and their bloodlines and a talent behind
the microphone which he has been practicing since he was only 2. For a few years now at the Gawler
Harness Racing Club, he has introduced horses coming onto the track, calling
trials and at the recent Gawler Cup Meeting held at Globe Derby Park Aaron put
his skills to interviewing winning drivers on their return to scale which
contributed to the Gawler meeting being conducted in a very professional matter.
With
Aaron’s dedication and devotion to harness racing there is no doubt that he
will be involved in the sport for a very long time and be a valued member of
the industry. We wish him all the
best for whatever path he chooses.
