RACE: 1 ~ Jive Café Shetland Trot

A small field of four kicked the night off of racing for the New Year. Midnight Start was the early leader over Mr Bo Jangles, Little Miss Muffet and back marker Summer Rose. The order never really changed, coming into the straight Midnight Star was still leading but was soon challenged by both Mr Bo Jangles on the inside and Little Miss Muffet on the outside. It was a race in three till the finishing line with Little Miss Muffet claiming victory over Mr Bo Jangles in second and Midnight Start back in third.

RACE: 2 ~ Jive Café Faster Open Trot

Next race was another small field of four for the faster open class. Sugar Rush stepped away nicely over Bull Jnr not too far away were Flash Caviar and One Step Smaller. Down the back straight Sugar extended her lead over Bull Jnr who was racing wide, Flash Caviar and One Step Smaller were both starting to bridge the gap towards this leader. Coming into the home straight Sugar Rush was still out in front by 20 metres, Flash Caviar was coming very quickly along with One Step Smaller who was to coming to the outside. Sugar Rush just held from a fast finishing One Step Smaller and Flash Caviar.

RACE: 3 ~ Jive Café Combine Slower Trot

Final race of the night was the combined class. Just Call Me Barry had a handy lead over Twoie, a big margin to the back markers Little Red Devil, Rouge Diablo, Rockstar Jelly and Jimmy Jenkins who all had plenty of work to do. Coming around the bend Just Call Me Barry was still leader over Twoie who was making chase, followed by Little Red Devil and Rockstar Jelly, a gap to Rouge Diablo and Jimmy Jenkins. Just Call Me Barry was still leading coming into the straight Twoie, Little Red Devil and Rockstar Jelly were closing in very quickly. Just before the winning line it was a four way go with Twoie just holding on in a photo finish over Little Red Devil and Rockstar Jelly.
