Another good crowd out at Globe Derby tonight and once again the weather was quite pleasant.
The first of the pony races started off to a really close finish between Mr Murphy and Lord Monty. Mr Murphy came from a long way back at the top of the straight to take the lead off Lord Monty who had led throughout. Westbury Bogart was dashing down the outside late and took out 3rd placing.

Coming down the straight
Little Kizz crossing the line 1st in front of Mr Mischief
Little Kizz used its fast finishing burst to wrap up the second race on the card for Christie Gilbert in an entertaining race.
Thats What Boys Do found the lead from the front mark and led for most of the journey and seemed to have the race wrapped up before racing greenly entering the home straight and losing its advantage.
Mr Mischief was on his best behaviour for Matthew Williams and pulled to the outside of Thats What Boys Do to take the lead with just 100m to travel but had victory stolen away by Little Kizz who dashed down the outside in the home straight to find the lead in the late stages of the race.
Little Kizz ran away with the good win closely followed by Mr Mischief. After his indiscretions Thats What Boys Do finished strongly to round out the first three.

The Shetland Field coming down the straight
Billy The Kid 1st and Wandarra Tess 2nd
The third race on the card was the Shetland Class where PJ found the early lead after beginning from the front mark for Bryce Gilbert, he had a good break on the rest of the field going into the final bend.
Katelin Richter used her initiative and sent Talking Donkey full steam ahead entering the final bend and was the first to break out of the pack and make ground on the runaway leader in the run to the finish.
Billy The Kid latched onto his back, following him around the turn before pulling out and making his move in the home straight for Brett Lowe.
Making a strong late challenge, Veteran Billy The Kid was able to round up PJ in the final 80m before dashing away with a solid victory, closely followed by Wandarra Tess finishing briskly for Jacob Starick.
Till We Meet Again was brilliantly driven by Brodie Webster to take the run along the pegs and use the sprint lane to come from a long way back on the turn and still run into the race and finish in third placing.

Monkey Business after receiving 1st Ribbon
The final event of the evening saw Monkey Business start like a rocket from the front row draw to find the lead for Chantelle Dodd, a move that proved to be a race winning decision.
Sharing the front row draw with Little Paleface and Sundance, Chantelle was able to nurse Monkey Business to the lead with Little Paleface latching onto her back and Sundance settling down three back along the pegs for Brett Lowe.
Rounding the final turn, Monkey Business and Little Paleface drew away from the others and it was a race between the two of them in a stirring finish.
Little Paleface searched for the inside run entering the home straight but had to pull to the outside and issued a strong challenge to Monkey Business in the run to the line.
But despite all her efforts, Little Paleface was unable to run down the confidently driven Monkey Business who took home the honours in the final event of the night for Chantelle Dodd.
