When the starter said go all seven ponies stepped away in a safe manner with tiny PJ leading the way from Razzle Dazzle, Jessiefoss, Loosen Up Lewie for Jakeb Allen who was having his race drive, following them was Mr Mysterious, Swamp Fire and Pee Wee 50.

Coming into the straight Jessiefoss took over the lead with Loosen Up Lewie racing on the outside and Mr Mysterious was sticking to the inside. These three ponies raced like this to the finish line with Jessiefoss being victorious by 5 metres from Loosen Up Lewie in 2nd and My Mysterious grabbing 3rd.

This brought up Alyssa Cappelluti first winner for the season. Well done Alyssa!!

The next race with the biggest field of the night with eight ponies facing the starter. When the flag went down So What was an early leader from Born To Be Wild, Little Kizz, Cowboy Road, Aadelaidee Lady, Chilli Knights, Chocolate Thunder and the backmarker Summer Surprise with Jasmin Hocking in the sulky making her driving debut.

Just before Norman's Gate So What was claimed on the outside by Cowboy Road with Little Kizz not fair away running on. Coming down the straight Shania-Jai with a confident drive webt for home on Cowboy Road and won by 15 metres from Little Kizz getting 2nd and Chilli Knights came 3rd.

This was Shania-Jai's first win for the season. Well done Shania-Jai!!

RACE  3 – “WEST FAMILY” SHETLAND TROT

The next race with a small field of five. Saw Ben Ten lead from his pole position from Midnight Star, Crackerjack and the two backmarkers Wandarra Tess and Jimmy Cricket.

 

Coming down the straight Ben Ten was still the leader, while Midnight Star hooked to the outside to challenge Ben Ten and Wandarra Tess was making up ground along the pegs. Ben Ten won by 5 metres from both Midnight Star and Wandarra Tess the stewards couldn’t split them and declared it a dead heat for 2nd. Jimmy Cricket and Crackerjack weren’t too far away finishing half a bike length away.

For the final of the evening saw all six ponies step away nicely with Reggie Ledgie being the leader off the front mark from Lapanacaton, Aussie, Way To Go, Wynkie Sweet Fairytales and Mr Mischief.

 

On the home turn Way To Go dashed up on the outside of Lapanacaton and went on by, Aussie was scooting along the inside and the backmarker Mr Mischief was making up some ground. Way To Go went on to win by 5 metres making this back to back wins for her, from Aussie in 2nd and Lapanacaton finished in 3rd placing.
