Its All About Me

Chantelle Rendall

In the first race of the season two of the three front markers had a very quick get away.  Pee Wee 50 and Chickabarquar were going neck and neck the whole way until the final 10 metres when Chickabarquar hung out and lost ground leaving Pee Wee 50 out in front.  Pee Wee 50 gave 12 year old new driver Shaniah Ogilvy her first winner.

Eddy's A Fake and Ben Ten were fighting out third placing with Eddy holding on.  Race fitness showed with Swamp Fire, Razzle Dazzle and PJ as they all got a little tired in the straight.  Its All About Me who started off the back mark was trotting along nicely until the home straight when he decided to be a Lipazzaner and went for a huge leap and buck.

NB:  Its All About Me has been stood down for two satisfactory trials before he can race again.

Its All About Me

Our Sir Patchalot who is owned and trained by Alexia Fuller started off the front mark and held on to win by a length from Midnight Star who was gaining ground very fast.  Unfortunately, as most know Midnight Star would prefer to race next to ponies than go past them!  Lets Tango who has resumed racing this season after having a foal finished in third placing.

Chilli Knights

The third race was full of incidents.  Chilli Knights was a late scratching due to being lame, Ooh La Laar reared entering the track and bent the bike so was a late scratching and Reggie Ledgie who started off barrier one reared and veered sideways at the start taking out Little Kizz before heading to the outside of the track.  Reggie Ledgie continued on out of control for his driver Cameron Jacques before having a pig route as well.  Our wonderful 'catchers on foot' caught Reggie Ledgie at the back gate.

A nice drive by Shannon Platts on Westbury Bogart who took advantage of Reggie Ledgie and Little Kizz moving up the track and ducked down to the rails soon after the start.  The rest of the field all stepped away really well.

Mr Mischief kept out of trouble and trotted around the outside of the field and went on to win for 6 year old Bailey Hoare having only his 2nd drive in a race.  Westbury Bogart continued along the rails and finished 2nd and Mr Murphy 3rd.

NB:  Reggie Ledgie has been stood down for two satisfactory trials before he can race again.

The final race was over the longer distance of 800m.  Born To Be Wild being one of the slower ponies started off the front mark and led the field up until the 400 metre mark when Way To Go took over.

Down the back straight the order was Born To Be Wild, Way To Go, Petti Cheval, Lapanacaton, Little Paleface, Aadelaidee Lady and a gap back to Wynkie Sweet Fairytales.

As they crossed the line Way To Go won from Little Paleface grabbing Petti Cheval right on the line for 2nd.  Born To Be Wild held on for 4th placing.
