PAMELA DOES IT AGAIN!
On Saturday night 7 ponies & their drivers competed for the Stefan Vandervlag Memorial Handicap.
Pamela & Joshua Micallef took out their 2nd win for the season after a closely contested race. All 7 ponies bunched together in the straight with Pamela just able to hold onto her lead.
Recent Ararat Cup winner, Slim Dusty driven by Stacey Barker was second followed by her sister Jackie Barker driving Marmalade. This combination has had a very consistent season having been placed in nearly all races.
Race 2 sponsored by Ron & Ros Thomas needed the judges’ intervention for the final placings. Victory was awarded to Slim Dusty (Stacey Barker), & 2nd to Marmalade (Jackie Barker).
Abbey Gull had her first ever placing in 3rd position driving Willow faultlessly to the line.
Pamela (Joshua Micallef) was relegated to 4th place ahead of Minty (Hayley Greenfield), Pumpkin (Emma Greenfield) & Snoopy (Kylie Shepherd).
This Friday night the ponies compete for a pony rug & trophies donated by P & L Livestock & Real Estate, which promises to be a very interesting night of racing in the lead up to the Gold Cup.
