Oungachucka & Chantelle
Tonight there was only 3 families racing at the Royal Adelaide Show and it started off with one firework going off at 7.00 pm that tends to make us all jump every night.
In the first heat Oungachucka started off the front mark near the winning post and was able to hold the lead until the end of the back straight which was a very good effort before being taken over. My Little Pony started off the second cone but was reluctant to run so with Jennifer Lehmann and the large crowd cheering her on she was able to get My Little Pony to eventually make it to the line. The backmarkers completed 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings.
HEAT 2
1st – Little Paleface – Emma Johnson
2nd – Oungachucka – Chantelle Rendall
3rd – My Little Pony – Jennifer Lehmann
4th – Way To Go – Kathryn Lehmann
5th – Mr Murphy – Corey Johnson
6th – Born To Be Wild – Hayley Lehmann
Just after the start
In the second heat My Little Pony was moved 100m in front of the field and was a lot happier here but this time Born To Be Wild didn’t want to move off the start so had to get a little push-a-long. With the lift Oungachucka and My Little Pony were able to hold on to 2nd and 3rd placings, Little Paleface dashed around the field to come from last to win.
HEAT 3 (raced by popular demand)
1st – Little Paleface – Emma Johnson
2nd – Oungachucka – Chantelle Rendall
3rd – Born To Be Wild – Hayley Lehmann
4th – My Little Pony – Jennifer Lehmann
5th – Way To Go – Kathryn Lehmann
6th – Mr Murphy – Corey Johnson
Way To Go & Kathryn
After the commentator and the crowd cheering and chanting from the stands it was requested that the ponies race again so this time Little Paleface gave the front marker My Little Pony half a lap start but wasn’t fazed of the handicap and went on to win his third race for the night - excellent effort. Oungachucka held on until the shadows of the post to finish 2nd ahead of Born To Be Wild who behaved this time to finish 3rd. The field were spread out over the length of the straight but Wayville isn’t a big track so it wasn’t that bad.
